One dead after crash in Wirt County

WIRT COUNTY, W.Va. (WTAP) - A Calhoun County man is dead after a car crash in Wirt County Sunday.

According to a news release from the West Virginia State Police 59-year-old Steve Boggs of Grantsville died from the crash.

The release says the crash happened around 2:50 p.m. Sunday on Little Kanawha Parkway near Chestnut Run Road in Elizabeth.

Trooper T.C. Winters says Boggs was driving west on Little Kanawha Parkway when his vehicle went off the road, hit a pole and rolled over and landed on its tires.

Boggs cut out of the vehicle and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The West Virginia State Police is investigating the crash.
