Former Ravenswood High School teacher sentenced for sex crimes with student

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - A former Ravenswood teacher was sentenced to prison on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Brent Jones, 35, pleaded guilty to one count of sexual conduct against a student.

Jones was arrested in November 2023, after the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of the incident the night before.

Jones was sentenced to one to three years in prison followed by 25 years of supervised release. He must also register as a sex offender for life.
